At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to: • Identify surround sound configurations for different audiences and room sizes • Understand speaker characteristics and performance goals • Differentiate between fact and fallacy with loudspeaker specification Home Theater Audio and Acoustics (Part II), Instructor: Dr. Floyd Toole—This is the final installment in a threepart series about audio and acoustics in home theaters. Apply the knowledge gained in the first two sessions to properly design theater surround systems that meet performance benchmarks as well as the client's budget constraints. At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to: • Apply surround system design in the real world • Select speaker type and placement for the best coverage • Manage room modes and subwoofer placement for smooth bass response Advanced Home Theater Design Lab, Instructors Sam Cavitt, Rich Green, and Anthony Grimani—This session provides a high-level theater design experience for professionals who already have many projects under their belts. Some of the industry's top designers will facilitate the hands-on design process and share their expertise. Designs will be discussed and critiqued.
